We were in Gold Canyon walking and he met a dog about his size. They played so well, and I realized the other dog also went on bike rides but had just a hard plastic basket with some cushion. I had a spare bag a company let me keep and need to get rid of more so gave it to the couple.

“Lets meet at the Peralta Trail” they said. We would have made it too, but Peralta Trail isn’t in Peralta Park, it’s it’s own trail. So 5 miles or so instead of 1.5 I give up and see them coming back.

We see each other from time to time on our dog walks and they say they are heading to Tucson. I assume we never see them again and say goodbye.

I go back to Phoenix proper expecting to move on and go elsewhere but have some work, I do it and start to feel sick, very sick, not awful but enough that I think I may have covid again (to find out test now cost like $60 or more). So I can be sick away from humanity I head back to Gold Canyon, errands done with a mask and trying to avoid people.

As I arrive I run into my past neighbors who welcome me back, not yet the duo this story is about. The man from Northern California and The older couple with an amazing 4×4 rv. I’m sick I tell them, me and the man from NC talk about this other couple, young in a Promaster that aren’t friendly. Juan finally says hello and we finally say hi. I say sorry I may be sick and am concerned it’s covid, “Yeah we have been avoiding people we just got over covid, you need a test?”. I did and it was negative, another one I found I had in my van was also negative. I soon felt better.

So eventually I’m walking and go to where the couple I was talking about at the start had been, knowing they weren’t there and Juan is smelling, sad and confused. There also was a photoshoot going on with attractive topless women in a vintage VW bus, but that’s here nor there and rattlesnakes in the road. Yet we keep walking and take an a path we usually don’t. I’m text this couple how Juan misses their dog and walk a bit further and there they are. They had just gotten back an hour or less prior. Where they now are is across some cactus and such right in front of me, enough distance where we can see each others vehicles, but not each other.

We keep in touch and they say they are going back to Idaho, which I eventually went through but forgot to message them. If fate wants us all to meet again though it knows what to do. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Really, it was Juan.
